Sponsored by Cambridge International Examinations and hosted by WHBC, the 2016 CIE Professional Development Training has been successfully held on April 22 to April 23. Under a series of strict evaluation on level of school management, student performance, and facility, WHBC has the honor to host such an important event. In his speech on the opening ceremony on April 22, the Academic Principle of WHBC, Mr. Bernard Allsopp introduced the great success WHBC has achieved with help and support from CIE, and also gave a warm welcome to all trainers and teachers all present. 

This year’s CIE training is supervised by Mrs Li and Mrs Song who are from CIE Northeast Asia regional office. Trainer of Geography subject Dr John Gerrard, Music subject Mark Penrose, Biology subject Lynn Winspear, Arts and Design subject Sharon Wildsmith, History subject Pete Browning are all CIE examiners of these subjects. A total of approximately 80 teachers from all over the nation joined the training. During the two days, teachers had thorough discussion on teaching philosophy and methods about subjects mentioned above, while gaining a deeper understanding of the teaching requirements by CIE.

Thanks to the great effort made by the efficient team of WHBC teachers and staff, this event was held successfully. WHBC is deeply appreciative to this opportunity and acknowledgement from CIE. This event will be a great encouragement for WHBC to pursuit higher standard in development of the A Level and also other programmes.
