近日，在众多同学与老师的见证下，我校本年度学生会新任管理层竞聘拉开帷幕。本次竞选将从十二位候选人中选出部门代表，及学生会管理负责人。

Recently, our school’s elections for the new Student Union leadership took place, witnessed by a large gathering of students and teachers. The purpose of this election is to choose leaders for various departments of the Student Union, as well as select representatives and heads for the overall management team, from a pool of twelve candidates.

本次学生会竞聘的顺序依次为学习部部长，宣传部部长，组织部部长以及学生会主席或副主席。在向各位前来观看的老师及同学介绍完竞聘规则后，主持人依次介绍部门负责人的工作内容以及相关要求。

The election process followed a specific order, starting with the positions for Head of the Academic Department, Head of the Publicity Department, and Head of the Organizational Department, before moving on to the election for Student Union President and Vice President. After introducing the format of the election to the attending teachers and enthusiastic students, the host outlined the responsibilities and expectations for each department's leadership role.

对于学习部，他们需要的是组织学习，分享经验和技巧，促进整个校园的学术氛围；对于宣传部，他们需要产出活动文案和海报，负责一切与宣传相关的工作内容；对于组织部，他们需要确保每次活动有序，讨论方案和分工，努力做到尽善尽美；最后，关于学生会主席以及副主席，他们需要带领整个学生会，领导每个部门的工作，是学生会的核心。每位候选人都在他们的演讲内容中表露出充沛的热情，对部门认真负责的态度以及让想法和创意发挥到极限。每位学生会领导者获得的不只是同学们的掌声和学生会带来的荣誉，也会迎来意想不到的困难，突发的意外以及倦怠和压力。

For the Academic Department, candidates are tasked with organizing academic sharing events, offering learning tips and strategies, and fostering a strong academic environment across the campus. In the Publicity Department, the role involves creating promotional materials for events, including write-ups and posters, and handling all publicity-related tasks. The Organizational Department focuses on ensuring that events run smoothly by coordinating plans, delegating tasks, and striving for flawless execution. Finally, the President and Vice President of the Student Union will lead the entire organization, guide each department, and serve as the core representatives, carrying the weight of the union’s biggest responsibilities. During their speeches, each candidate expressed great enthusiasm for their role, a sense of responsibility toward their department’s mission, and a desire to bring their ideas and creativity to life. However, the Student Union leaders will face more than applause and the honor associated with their positions. They will also have to navigate unexpected challenges, sudden crises, and the pressure that comes with managing their duties.

在全英文演讲的挑战之下，每位候选人能够站在报告厅中央，将自己的见解阐述给大家，已经代表了他们对自己竞聘决心的坚持以及面对无法想象的压力时契而不舍的勇气。希望在他们正式工作时，也会如他们演讲时所期望的那样，在接下来的一年变得更好。让我们拭目以待！

Despite the additional challenge of delivering their speeches entirely in English, these candidates stood confidently in the auditorium, addressing their audience in a language that is not their own. This act alone demonstrates their commitment to running for office and their courage in handling the pressures that come with it. We hope that, as they take on their new roles, the WHBC Student Union will thrive and continue to improve throughout the coming year, just as they envisioned in their speeches.
