A Level
The Cambridge International Examinations high school program (General Certificate of Education: Advanced Level), is based on the British Further Education Program, or A Level which is the course of studies followed by almost all able and talented students in Britain’s maintained and private schools. Around seventy subjects are offered and students can choose combinations of subjects to suit their own interests. The choices range from the humanities, languages and arts, to mathematics and the sciences and economics, business studies and other social sciences. It is internationally recognized as an ideal preparation for future success as an undergraduate and in one’s subsequent career.
Approval of the A Level curriculum is widespread and it is accepted as an admission qualification by top universities all over the world. It is approved by the universities providing all English-language curricula in more than 160 countries and regions, including University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, Imperial College and the LSE in the UK; Harvard University, Yale University and MIT in the USA; the University of Toronto and Waterloo University in Canada; University of Sydney and University of Melbourne in Australia, and many more. It is a great pathway for Chinese students who wish to study at the world’s leading universities.
WHBC Cambridge A Level Centre is jointly sponsored by Wuhan Foreign Languages School and its cooperating school organization – Wuhan China Britain International School. In November, 2007, Wuhan Foreign Languages School underwent a rigorous inspection by Cambridge International Examinations. The school passed and became international test center CN276 and the Principal of Wuhan Foreign Languages School, Mr. Li Honglang became the center director. In January 2008, Hubei Provincial Department of Education and Wuhan Education Bureau recognized“WHBC Cambridge International Examination Centre”.
