Ladies and Gentlemen,

Good afternoon!

As the president of Wuhan Foreign Languages School and the chairman of the board of WHBC, I feel very honored to be here today. First of all I want to give my sincere wishes to all the 153 graduates of WHBC 2011, wish you and your family all the best in the future! Also I want to congratulate all the teachers and staffs in WHBC, we can’t have such a huge success today without your hard work all year around. At the end I want to thank all the supports received from Wuhan Education Bureau, NUCK, CIE and all other related co-operative units.

2011 is a very fantastic year for WHBC and we made huge achievements. The grades of the IFY students rank in the top of the parallel programs, there are 36 students in total achieved all A grades at the final examination, Hao YiJia, Tu TianChang and Tian ZeYuan shared the first place in business test, Gao Lu and Si qi shared the first place in science test. Also 13 graduates of A Level got all A for the IGCSE in this year. Cao Yang is the number one scholar with IELTS 7.5 and full mark in physics and chemistry. There are a lot of graduates who are already admitted by the very famous universities in the world. According to the top100 universities by American Newsweek and British Times, we have 88 students which is 57.52% of all the graduates this year who have got the offer to study in the top100 universities, such as Cornell University, University of Southern California, UCLA, University of Toronto, Imperial College London, The University of Manchester, York University, University of Edinburg, University of Bristol, Sydney University and so on. Congratulations to everyone! Also there is a huge academic progress for each grade owing to all the excellent foreign and local teachers’ efforts. Especially there are 23 AS students who got all A for the A Level in this year. Among these 23 students, 4 students from Wuhan Foreign Languages School, Zhao Beibei, Jin Huilan, Gao Zijun and Mei Ran who are qualified to take the interview of University of Oxford and University of Cambridge. With full mark on physics, chemistry, economic and 99 score on mathematics, Zhao Beibei is undoubtedly the number one scholar. And Jin Huilan who is also from Wuhan Foreign Language School got the second place with full mark on physics, chemistry, mathematics and 86 score on economics. We are pretty sure that there will be more students who will be admitted by the most famous universities next year.

After working with WHBC staff for many years, it impresses me the most that WHBC has a fantastic team with great imagination, spirit of innovation and strong power of execution. This team includes CEO Cao Wu, academic principal Bernard Allsopp, administration headmaster Samantha, academic vice-principal and head of business department Giles, head of physics and mathematics department Dr.Alan, head of chemistry department Dr.James, head of HR Fang Jingjing, head of marketing Jiang Li, head of bilingual teacher Spencer and etc. In total there are more than 25 foreign experts and 40 oversea returnees built up the main part of the team. Also it includes another professional education information technology technical team which does filming, making high definition video compression, assisting in teaching and editing, building website architecture, front desk development and programming etc. Moreover this team includes a group of Wuhan local famous teachers with a lofty virtue worthy of respect such as Qi Wenjin, Zhang Guangde, Yan Huaxing, Gan Deyan and He Wenhao etc. Year 2011, not only we achieved great academic result, but also it’s the turning year for WHBC to begin the next 10 year glory. First of all, the expansion of the campus, the update of the facilities and network infrastructure supporting project for future development show us the improvement of WHBC. Secondly, total number of English teaching electives increases 50%, and examination preparation department is formally set up, we now have international mainstream language test training including IELTS, TOEFL and SAT inside the school, this can benefit both of the students of WHFLS and WHBC. The students can take all the courses of every kinds of English test in their spare time. It can not only save time but also improve efficiency for them.  The same time last year witnessed the 10 years anniversary of WHBC and students’ graduation ceremony, the Istudycn Online was jointly unveiled by secretary JinYan and director Xie Shiyao. Within one year’s fully anticipation and hard work of more than 100 experts and famous teachers, Istudycn officially go online on March 3^rd covering 9 major subjects of high school and 7 subjects of secondary school. It offers high-definition video courses plus corresponding learning stuff self-study platform. After 5 months’ operation, more than 2000 students benefited from this site and gained excellent scores in this year’s national college entrance examination. Besides the establishment of the Istudycn, I want to take this opportunity to announce another good news: the WHBC has teamed up with other famous schools to design teaching programs. We gather the whole batch of prestigious foreign experts and world-renowned bilingual trainers and today officially put forward the “ONCOURSE”, which include the international high school courses and mainstream international language tests. It combines remote online education, offline guidance and lab manual as well. In doing this, we can let the students who receive international basic education to review the key points and meantime, offer a good chance for those domestic students to experience the culture differences & enjoy western-style courses. Later on a feature program will be shown. Literally, with every student and staff member’s endless efforts, our school has formed a distinguished teaching system which differentiates from the existing Chinese traditional education yet complementary to it. It boasts both international and domestic high-quality teaching resources, covers various online and offline study styles. It has become a leadership and new force under the slogan of Wuhan Foreign Languages School “international cooperation, online development”.

The great achievement of WHBC depends on the support of all the leaders and parents shown up here today. I want to say thank you to all of you on behalf of the faculty of WHBC and I hope we will have a perfect cooperation in the future.

Our dearest students, now the study experiences in WHBC have become a cherished phase in your life. The further study aboard is waving hands to you. The splendid future and lofty goals is yet to be fulfilled. And now I hope the life of all you guys abroad will be amazing just like the days you spent with us, and all you guys can make a great achievement in the future. Don’t forget to come back to WHBC sometimes.
