Congratulation to WHBC IBMYP group for winning USAP

The 2019 United States Academic Pentathlon (USAP), China was solemnly opened on February 11th in Chengdu. USAP, as a division of United States Academic Decathlon (USAD), is a comprehensive academic contest targeted at middle school students. USAP has received wide and high social reputation with its unique contest formation and content and its remarkable academic value. In order to allow students fully demonstrate their academic knowledge and skills in five academic fields, a new theme and diverse projects would be set for each year contest.


This year, the USAP China contest lasted for four days and covered 1200 contestants and 132 teams from 50 international schools and key middle schools around China. “1960 generation” was the theme of the contest with a subjective test, a question-answer part, a team innovation contest, and a public speaking part. Four students from WHBC IBMYP group stood out among the contestants. They are Fang, Shuyi (Grade 7, Science subject individual Silver Award, and Language and Literature subject individual Bronze Award), Ye, Yuntian (Grade 7, Individuals and Societies subject individual Gold Award), Wan, Tianyu (Grade 8, Mathematics subject individual Bronze Award), and Xiong, Xiangcheng (Grade 8, Mathematics subject individual Bronze Award). The WHBC MYP group won the Best Organized Team.
