On Tuesday, August 13, 2013, 16 top American liberal arts colleges visited Wuhan Britain-China School and held a successful college tour. Attendees including 16 college admission officers, the Academic Principal Mr. Bernard Allsopp, the Administrative President Zhang Xuemei and other leaders of the school. There were more than 400 students and parents attended and enjoyed the very informative college fair.

In the morning, the Academic Principal of Wuhan Britain-China School Mr. Bernard Allsopp gave a welcome speech to start the tour. He expressed his sincere welcome to the liberal arts college officials and gave his best wish for a successful tour. Then Ms. Sonya Broeren, the Associate Director of Admissions and International Recruitment of Kenyon College addressed us . She gave a general introduction to liberal arts education and how students can study in a free learning environment and enjoy subjects that will develop their general intellectual capacities. She hopes that this tour can be a great start for a better communication between liberal arts colleges and Wuhan students.

Students and Parents showed great enthusiasm during the Application F&Q Workshop.  School officials answered many questions concerning the admission requirements, especially on how to write an good application essay, how important A-LEVEL, IB & AP grades are and how to balance they with TOEFL & SAT testing. Of course they stressed that for a good applicant it is important for the student to be all-around. Great extracurricular actives, leadership skills and honesty are as important as academic performances. After 16 liberal art colleges all gave a short presentation of their school, the college fair was held and students and parents had 3 hours to talk to the admission officers face to face. It was a very successful college fair with student from all over central China, and it was a very informativeevent for both students and liberal arts colleges. And on the 14th, students from WHBC and other schools had the chance to attend ascheduled interview with the admission officers.
